Hi all,

I heard about the thermomix sometime ago and didn't think much of it as I thought .. just another gaget that prob won't be accessible; how wrong I was.
Upon hearing about them again on the radio last week, I went to the website and thought if only it was accessible, I would love one.
Not sure if there's an official site globally but the site I used is (Hope that link worked.
Basically it's an all-in-one kitchen device that takes care of chopping, processing, mixing, stirring, cooking and probably other functions i've left out.
I wrote to some Ausie blindy lists the following day and was amazed at the amount of responses I got from people who were using them very successfully. The only thing we can't use is the sscales function, but as the buttons are laid out so well with the temperature buttons being in an almost vertical line, it's easy. the dial could be made accessible if not already (as i don't have one yet, not sure if the dial clicks over or not) with lock dots.
They are pretty expensive; I hear about $2000 Australian so at least here in Australia, we can arrange a consultant to come out to our home and give us a demo with a three course meal before we commit to buy; I will be having someone come over with one tomorrow after work; can't wait. But I've already been convinced to buy one which I will be doing tomorrow through the same consultant who will take my order and when it arrives, she'll come over and make sure I'm all set up, plus be there to consult with in future should I need it.

Guess I was just curious to see if anyone else on here uses one? I read they were made in Germany.

I'm sure they are as they're sold in Canada.

I have one. Mine is accessible with some adjustments and tricks. But they launched a new version some months ago with a touch screen and guess what? It seems completely unaccessible. But it is a wonderful machine and all good that can be said about it is not enough!

Yes they are produced in Germany! Here in Portugal, the price is about 1000 Euros.

the price is somewhat universal i think, doesn't matter where you get it from. Is a bit like
Apple. I got one couple of years ago. I like it, but i don't use it enough to justify the price.
Will i get it again if i have the choice? I would, perhaps, think twice... However, by saying
that, it is, indeed a great kitchen tool to have around.
